The face of Now Entertain Me – Steve

My name is Steve and I started to learn to Dj in 1999. In 2000 I started professionally providing entertainment for parties across Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

By 2003 I was regularly performing 3 or 4 parties a week from children’s parties to nightclubs such as Park Lane and Melody Night/Bags Ball at the Winter Gardens.

In 2006 I became the resident DJ on board P&O Ferries Pride of Bilbao travelling between Portsmouth and Bilbao, Spain.

After my contract finished I was offered a new role as Entertainments Manager on board the 4 P&O Ferries from Hull. I did this for over a year before being offered a new contract in the Mediterranean onboard the MV Island Escape.

My role on board the ship was as a cruise host and DJ, hosting games and entertaining 100s of passengers every week.

From here I applied for a new role with Princess Cruises and found myself onboard the Sun Princess travelling around Australia, Malaysia, India and South Africa as an Assistant Cruise Director.

In 2009, I returned to Grimsby and decided to put my experience to good use and return to University and gain a degree in Event Management.

I started my own business in 2012 and in 2013 I launched the very successful Lincolnshire Food Festival at Meridian Park, Cleethorpes.

In 2014, I sold my business and started work at Hull City Council as a marketing officer, working on high profile projects such as Hull City of Culture 2017, Green Port Hull and the Public Realm.

In 2015, an opportunity came to up to support a local charity in Hull as a Marketing and Event Manager. Using my experience I have been able to raise significant donations for the charity as well as heavily promote it across Hull and East Yorkshire cementing it as the number 1 provider in the area. A role I still love to do today.

By night and at the weekends you can now find me entertaining people young and old across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Alongside much loved family time with my wife and young daughter.
